If you’d told me a few years ago that I’d be spending my days surrounded by wax, fragrance oils and labels with questionable life advice on them, I’d probably have laughed…
But here we are.
Victoria Grace Candles officially began in 2022, although the seeds were planted long before that. Like many small businesses, it didn’t start in a fancy office with a five-year business plan. It started with an idea, a kitchen table, lots of enthusiasm, and a fair few “Well… that didn’t go quite to plan” moments.
The Great Candle Experiment.
It all began with a simple thought…
Why are so many candles so… serious?
You know the ones. “Ocean Breeze.” “Morning Dew.” “Peaceful Meadow.”
Lovely, of course. But where were the candles for people who accidentally order takeaway because they can’t face cooking? Or survive entirely on coffee and sarcasm? Or think buying another houseplant counts as self-care? I wanted candles that made people laugh before they’d even lit the wick.
From Wax Meltdowns to Happy Customers.
I’ll be honest—there has been plenty of trial and error. Some candles looked beautiful but didn’t smell quite right. Some smelled amazing but behaved like they had a personality disorder. There were wicks that refused to cooperate, labels that ended up upside down, and enough spilled wax to make my floor permanently moisturised. But every mistake taught me something, and slowly Victoria Grace Candles began to become exactly what I’d imagined.
Candles with Character
Today, every candle is hand-poured with one goal in mind:
Make someone smile. Every candle is a personality, whether it’s a gift for your best friend, your mum, your wine-loving neighbour, your permanently exhausted work colleague or yourself (because let’s be honest, you deserve it), every candle is designed to bring a little humour into everyday life. Sometimes all we need is a gorgeous scent, a flickering flame and a label that says exactly what we’re all thinking.
A Small Business with Big Dreams
Victoria Grace Candles is still proudly a small business. Every order genuinely makes me do a little happy dance (thankfully nobody’s filming). Every returning customer reminds me why I started this adventure in the first place.
